End of Waste Glass Aggregate Sand

Aquavitrum is a research, design, manufacturing and recycling company providing innovative equipment for Material Recycling Facilities (MRF).

Our Eastleigh processing site recovers glass for recycling from highly contaminated glass feedstock (such as MRF Glass), saving businesses money, reducing wastage and helping the planet in the process.

Our technology has been specifically designed for this purpose and to enable packaging glass to remain in the container glass recycling loop or be recycled in aggregate or insulation markets. The benefits are huge, for businesses and the planet.

How it works

At the new Eastleigh Glass Recycling site, the process has been designed to enable MRF Glass to be recycled. MRF Glass is typically heavily contaminated and difficult for conventional Glass recyclers to handle. Aquavitrum has a solution that removes non-glass contamination, washes the remaining MRF Glass and then supplies End of Waste Glass into the aggregate and insulation markets.

All by-products from the MRF Glass are recycled where possible and waste is minimised. No chemicals are used in the wash process, only pure water recycled in the system is used to wash the glass.

Aquavitrum is continuously looking for partners to supply MRF Glass or similar wastes and finding sustainable output markets. The Aquavitrum business has the potential to work across all industries and handle multiple waste streams, depending on business needs.

Our story

Aquavitrum has built a glass recycling site in Eastleigh, near Southampton. The Eastleigh site is the start of our planned journey. This site has the ability to recycle MRF Glass and produce End of Waste quality glass aggregate sand. Aquavitrum has patented technology that allows a wash process to clean the glass without adding chemicals.

Aquavitrum can offer bespoke recycling support and are interested to engage with all industries to improve process performance and open up a dialogue.
